 Trainspotting Tommy's house There is a change in the appearance of Tommy's house. This is as it becomes discoloured and unkempt. There is graffiti outside and he is sleeping on the mattress. There is a lack of possessions/items in his house. - implying they have been sold for drugs. Positions in a way switch. Renton's looks clean whilst Tommy looks dirty. The montage of London has natural lighting which is bright. Within the montage there is stereotypical British landmarks/ tourist attractions such as red buses. In this, the contrast between London and Scotland is shown. - The way of life Renton challenges a the beginning of the film. Renton then in the next scene is shown in a suit. - perhaps suggesting a change in character.  Sick boy and Begbie come to London and make Renton's life harder. Funeral

Trainspotting In the 'bar scene' there is a high angle shot. Within this shot it is apparent that there is a lot of people in the bar. This establishes the atmosphere. Due to the theme which surround the film, The lightning in the bar is low-key lighting. This is used to The fact that Tommy is shown to be working out/using weights suggest his characteristics. Unlike many of the other characters, it implies that he cares for his health and therefore himself. This is also highlighted through the mise en scene of his house.The props such as the plants try to entail that he is responsible and well abled. The props and cleanliness contrast that of all of the other characters houses. The lighting also exaggerates this as it contradicts the bar in the previous scene. Firstly, pathetic fallacy of the rain in the background is important. The diegetic sounds against the window as the actor eats foreshadows that something unpleasant is going to happen. Rain is often used in movies to symbolise a death of a character and therefore evokes something bad has already maybe happened. The medium shot begins establishing setting. In this shot the actor has his back to the camera. This creates mystery for the audience a they are left guessing who he is. Mise en scene is significant here to suggest what is happening. The dark clothing of the character tries to imply what kind of character he is going to be. It also creates a sense of mystery for this character and leaves the audience questioning his presence within the movie.  Crimson peak The scene begins with a close-up shot of the main character lying in bed. This shot creates a sense of claustrophobia as not a lot is visible.This makes the audience feel uneasy, much like the character does in this moment of time. In this scene, it is apparent that the tone of the film is serious. This is evoked through the low key lighting that it used. Through this, the director has created a sense of mystery as the setting is unknown to the audience. This also foreshadows that something bd is going to happen by building tension.
