Tommy's house

There is a change in the appearance of Tommy's house.
This is as it becomes discoloured and unkempt.
There is graffiti outside and he is sleeping on the mattress. There is a lack of possessions/items in his house. - implying they have been sold for drugs.
Positions in a way switch. Renton's looks clean whilst Tommy looks dirty.


The montage of London has natural lighting which is bright.
Within the montage there is stereotypical British landmarks/ tourist attractions such as red buses.
In this, the contrast between London and Scotland is shown. - The way of life Renton challenges a the beginning of the film.

Renton then in the next scene is shown in a suit. - perhaps suggesting a change in character. 

Sick boy and Begbie come to London and make Renton's life harder.

Amy

Within the first scene of the documentary Amy, raw footage is used. There is a short clip of her and her friends in the very first couple seconds of the film. There is a close up shot of her in the middle of the frame. This makes the film feel more persona; to the audience as they feel as if they are “close to her.” The director uses this clip first due to her innocence; this is Amy before fame. She singing she’s happy. She’s doing it with her friends because she enjoys it rather than for an audience. She is caught off-guard by the camera. The scene after this is again another raw footage film with her and her friends/management in the car. There is both non-diegetic and diegetic sound within the scene. The diegetic sound is quiet as the non-diegetic voice overs are played on top.  Crimson peak The scene begins with a close-up shot of the main character lying in bed. This shot creates a sense of claustrophobia as not a lot is visible.This makes the audience feel uneasy, much like the character does in this moment of time. In this scene, it is apparent that the tone of the film is serious. This is evoked through the low key lighting that it used. Through this, the director has created a sense of mystery as the setting is unknown to the audience. This also foreshadows that something bd is going to happen by building tension.
